| Notes | There has not been a better time to join our kitchen. Recently awarded the Overall Winner Award of the Manx Menu competition 2024. As chef de partie, your job will be exciting and varied from day to day, learning on the job, developing your culinary skills and building experience in a professional kitchen under the supervision of the sous chef and head chef. You may be at catering college, or recently graduated and looking for your first placement in a professional kitchen, or looking for a change of venue. We located on the beautiful quayside in Peel. Then kitchen has an open view across the dining room and out to the marina. Your responsibilities will be learning the workings of the kitchen, following specifications for dishes, recipes and prep lists, maintaining stock of ingredients and products ready for lunch and dinner service. As your level of experience and competence increases, you will progress on to run the starters and desserts station in the absence of the sous chef. Ensuring every dish meets the high standards of the restaurant, in taste, presentation and consistency. You will have an understanding of how a restaurant kitchen works, knife skills, eye for detail, pride in your work and enthusiasm to learn. Good communication skills and high standards of cleanliness. Depending on experience, we offer competitive rates of pay, holiday pay (rolled up, if hourly), staff discounts and a generous share of tips. Through recruitment of key roles in the front and back of house, we are looking to create a better work/life balance ensuring we have sufficient staff to cover shifts and holidays whilst maintaining the long term health of the business. Hours 27hr - 36hrs pw - Flexible. Mix of straight shifts and occasional split shifts as required. Hourly rate £12ph + tips and rolled up holiday pay approx before tax £15ph.
