Notes As a Pharmacist Manager, your primary responsibility will be to lead and coach the team within your pharmacy, ensuring they achieve excellence in customer care and patient safety. This role encompasses overseeing all aspects of pharmacy operations, aiming to deliver outstanding customer service while maintaining profitability. You'll play a crucial role in managing people, which includes tasks such as recruitment, supporting the onboarding process for new hires, and providing training and mentoring to ensure that the team efficiently meets the needs of patients and customers. Your core responsibilities will involve coordinating and overseeing the day-to-day operations of the pharmacy. This includes performing the duties of a pharmacist, such as dispensing medications, clinically and accurately checking prescriptions, counseling patients, and building relationships within the community. Additionally, you'll be responsible for leading, coaching, and developing the team to achieve high performance standards. Managing the procurement and supply of medicines, monitoring prescription accuracy, and fostering strong relationships with customers, GPs, and other health professionals are also key aspects of the role. Furthermore, you'll take ownership of financial targets for the pharmacy and the overall business, striving to grow private and NHS service income while increasing retail turnover and footfall. Compliance with regulatory standards of pharmacy practice and assistance with staff recruitment, onboarding, and scheduling are also part of your responsibilities. In addition to these core duties, you'll ensure accurate record-keeping in line with regulations, stay informed about drug shortages and market prices, and actively build relationships with private health workers and other companies to market pharmacy services. Prioritizing the Community Pharmacy Contract Framework (Drug Tariff) and making knowledge-based commercial and clinical decisions are essential for success in this role. Leadership and compliance are crucial components of the Pharmacist Manager role. You'll lead by example, set standards for the team, and provide support and training to foster openness, transparency, and a growth mindset. Compliance with mandatory training, adherence to legislative and regulatory requirements, and maintenance of pharmacy operations to regulatory standards are also vital. Finally, effective communication methods within the team and across the business, timely communication with patients regarding pharmacy services, and the development of effective working relationships within the business and with other healthcare providers are essential for success in this role. Encouraging adaptability and resilience among staff to navigate industry changes effectively is also crucial. Applicants should send their CV along with an email demonstrating why they would be well suited to our company, our ambitions and the role, to jobs@karsonspharmacy.co.uk
