Notes Our client seeks a Collections Advisor to join their friendly team on the Isle of Man! Reporting to the Supervisor, the Collections Advisor will provide a professional efficient debt collection service for the Company, being responsible for minimising bad debt and supporting customers in financial difficulties, ultimately ensuring a fair customer outcome at all times. Key Responsibilities: Communicate with customers by telephone and face to face to discuss outstanding debts with the Company. Arrange visits with customer (including individual and commercial) to agree ways of payment and /or agree a repayment plan within specified guidelines. Provide advice and guidance to customers on the most appropriate methods of payment. Produce standard template letters to customers who are in arrears with their bills. Update customer information on the computer system daily. Assess situations with a view to cutting off gas supply to customers as a last resort. Provide support to vulnerable customers. Record accurate meter reading into electronic devices. Empty and set coin metered gas installations. Compile and accurately record daily takings from customers in order to produce daily statistics. Produce monthly statistics information on number of visits, disconnections, and reconnections. Identify possibilities performance and productivity improvements. Liaise with meter readers and other departments. Submit relevant documents to the Courts in respect of bad debts. Liaise with the Coroner's office. Key Skills and Experience: Experience working in a customer service role. Experience having difficult conversations. Experience with cash handling and the taking of payments. Good written and verbal communication skills. Active listening skills. Excellent interpersonal skills, reflecting an ability to work and interact with contacts of all levels in an appropriate manner. Good IT skills, including in using the Microsoft Suite. Ability to use own initiative, manage own time and prioritise workload. Good organisational skills, and the ability to accurately input and record data. Ability to observe security and confidentiality. Experience in producing Excel reports. Skills in negotiation and problem solving. High personal and professional ethics and integrity. Resilience and ability to work under pressure to tight timescales. Full clean driving licence.
