Notes Our client seeks an Access Network Engineer to join their team in the Falkland Islands. Role Profile: Contribute to all aspects of the Transmission and Provisioning operations on a day-to-day basis. Undertake the day-to-day requirements of the Earth Station operations, maintaining equipment and responding to faults as required. Key Responsibilities: Deliver the operational performance of the earth station, monitor active systems, and take remedial actions where necessary.Install and maintain new/existing satellite circuits, perform testing with other business units and distant satellite service providers.Maintenance of the Earth Station environment in line with company and Intelsat standards, performing required routine maintenance to ensure reliable operation.Work with Line Managers, equipment vendors to design and specify any infrastructure network improvements and upgrades.Installation and maintenance of all company access network infrastructure, including fixed and mobile radio access network, copper, fibre, and power platforms.Work with equipment vendors to design and specify any infrastructure network improvements and upgrades.Contribute to all Transmission & Provisioning technical issues on a day-to-day basis.Implement all planned technical projects within the T&P environment.Responsible for meeting customer service targets of the business, and for the continuous improvement of service quality levels.Manages a positive relationship with all customers and vendors.Ensure the Company's strategies, plans and policies are implemented.Ensures Company interests are protected and optimised.Ensure up to date operational and health & safety practices and procedures exist, are implemented, and adhered to by the team.Assist in producing business cases when required.Dissemination of information and any in house training of team members in new technologies being implemented.To undertake such other duties and responsibilities as may be required from time to time having regard to the nature of the post.To be aware of the commercial requirements of the company and this group in particular.To at all times safeguard the company from legal action or to bring the company in to disrepute.Understand and comply with the licence and other regulatory rules / Data Protection Law / Health and Safety responsibilities applying to the position.Work in accordance with the safety procedures and safe working policiesUndertake appropriate security awareness training covering information security and data protection. Key skills and Experience:Be qualified in a relevant technical field to HND level or higher.At least 2 years relevant experience in Satellite earth station management and operational duties, covering spectrum analyser use, L band modems, IF and up/down conversion.Have a strong electrical and mechanical background through job experience & training of AC & -48V DC power systems.Have proven track record of system design, installation and maintenance practises.Have previous experience of standby power plant and UPS systems, desirable.Have the ability to work autonomously on projects and day to day.Good problem-solving techniques in electromechanical/electronicsHave experience in mentoring and developing junior members of staff.
