| Notes | Our client looks for a Financial Analyst to join their team. Key Responsibilities: To assist the CFO with designing and developing an 'internal audit' function/framework for current and future portfolio investments, an internal function that provides comfort that its investments are being expertly managed and that potential issues are identified at the earliest opportunity. To create and maintain centralised databases collating data from each portfolio company such as leverage, covenants and financial / operational performance (both actual and forecast).To provide analysis and insight to support the CEO on the monitoring of investments (trend analysis, outlier analysis, performance versus budget and prior year, potential issues, etc). Act as liaison between the CEO and the CFO of the portfolio companies. To participate in portfolio company audit committee meetings, including with auditors (objective is an independent review of audit, risk and accounting policies).To review and critique risk registers of each portfolio company. To support the investment team on various matters: initial financial reviews, initial red flag analysis, summary of annual reports highlighting key financial information and significant accounting policies, cash generation, off-balance sheet issues etc. Maintaining personal Continuing Professional Development / Training records. Key skills and experience: Qualified Accountant with a strong understanding of cash flows and accounting principles. Experience with quality of earning adjustments and ability to analyse financial trends. Experience of private equity is an advantage - valuation techniques, debt instruments etc. Pro-active self-starter and highly motivated to succeed and comfortable working under pressure; comfortable in a fast-moving, dynamic environment; comfortable in a role without a rigid structure or daily routine and happy to 'go with the flow'.
