To apply for Social Security benefits, you will need to register for the online service.
To do this, please click on the Social Security Benefits options above. Alternatively, you can login / register using the option at the top right of this page. This will take you to a registration page.
If you are already registered for Online Services, please enter your existing credentials. If you are not already registered for this service, please select the option to ’Register as an individual’.
Once registered and logged into Online Services, you will need to register for the new Social Security online service. If you are not taken to this page automatically, please navigate back to the home page and click on the ‘Social Security’ option.
Here you will be asked to upgrade your account by completing some further information. You will need your National Insurance Number to hand.
Once registered, you will have immediate access to apply for benefits online.
Please note, Incapacity Benefit is currently the only Social Security benefit available to apply for online. This forms part of the first phase of the project transforming the delivery of Social Security services and more benefits will be added to the service over the next 12-18 months.
