Notes We are seeking a talented and experienced Indian Cuisine: Halwai/pastry Chef specialized in making Indian sweets and savouries to join our culinary team at Aura bar bistro. The Halwai /pastry Chef will be responsible for creating and preparing a variety of traditional Indian desserts and savouries. This role requires expertise in Indian dessert and savouries preparation, creativity, and a passion for delivering high-quality, flavourful desserts that complement our restaurant's menu. Indian Sweets & Savouries Preparation and Cooking: Prepare and cook a variety of Indian sweets and savouries, including traditional Indian Halwas made from ingredients such as semolina, wheat flour, carrots, and lentils. Utilize authentic Indian cooking techniques, spices, and flavourings to enhance the taste and texture of Desserts. Ensure that all Sweets and savouries are cooked to perfection, with the right balance of sweetness, aroma, and consistency. Menu Development and Innovation: Collaborate with the Head Chef and culinary team to develop and refine the restaurant's dessert menu, with a focus on Halwai. Create innovative and enticing desserts recipes that showcase different flavours, textures, and presentations. Experiment with different ingredients, cooking methods, and garnishes to create unique and appealing Halwai specialties. Ingredient Selection and Management: Source high-quality, fresh ingredients for desserts preparation, including nuts, dried fruits, ghee, sugar, and spices. Ensure that all ingredients are safely stored, handled, and used in accordance with food safety and sanitation guidelines. Monitor inventory levels and communicate with the kitchen manager to order supplies and ingredients as needed. Quality Control and Presentation: Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation, and taste for all Sweets & Savoury dishes. Conduct regular tastings and inspections to ensure consistency and adherence to recipe standards. Plate and present dishes in an appealing and attractive manner, following established plating guidelines. Kitchen Operations and Team Collaboration: Coordinate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth and efficient operations during service hours. Communicate effectively with other chefs and kitchen team members to coordinate tasks and prioritize orders. Provide guidance and support to kitchen staff, including training on Sweets & Savouries preparation techniques and recipes. Qualifications: Proven experience as an Indian Dessert Chef or similar role, with expertise in making Indian Sweets. Strong culinary skills and creativity in dessert recipe development and menu planning. Excellent organizational and time management abilities. Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen environment. Culinary degree or equivalent certification from a recognized culinary school.
