Astrea Bioseparations has an exciting opportunity for a Process Development Chemist to join the Technology Transfer Team at their site in the Isle of Man. Process Development Chemists in the Technology transfer Team are responsible for the investigation and improvement of all manufacturing processes on the Isle of Man site. They will also be responsible for the delivery of TT batches, qualification of new raw materials, and will have input into root cause analysis problem solving including trial batches or scale experiments. They will also need to maintain accurate, scaled process models of site manufacturing. The role requires someone with good attention to detail as they will be responsible for setting up and interpreting results from third-party laboratories and completing full literature (internal) reviews to ensure that full data sets are understood. The successful candidate will need to be practically skilled in organic chemistry, method and process development, assay development and running assays. Key responsibilities will include: Planning and execution of experiments related to their assigned manufacturing development projects. The development of methodologies and techniques necessary for the completion of the experiments. Accurate record keeping and reporting of results. Qualifications, Skills and Experience BSc / MSc in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry or related field is required. Practical experience in organic chemistry, solid-phase organic synthesis, or polymer chemistry are desirable (min 5yrs). We offer a competitive salary and benefits package.
