The Holding List Standard view shows the key information for each animal currently registered as being on your Holding.
Click on the ‘sort’ button at the top of any column and the animals will be sorted by that field. For example if you click on ‘sort’ at the top of the breed column the animals will be sorted into alphabetical order of the breed abbreviation. If you click on the same sort button a second time the sort will be reversed.
If you click on sort in a new column the animals will then be sorted by the new column.
If you wish to remove the sort click ‘refresh’ at the top of the screen.
Once you have filtered your data you can choose a column by which to sort the results.
If you wish to filter the animals shown on the screen you can choose any column which has a ‘filter’ drop down list at the top. The drop down list will show all of the possible entries for that column. For example the Breed column will show all currently available breeds, not only the breeds of the animals currently on your holding.
IIf you select an entry from the drop down list and then click ‘apply filter’ only those animals which meet the criteria you have selected will be displayed. For example if you chose a breed of Hereford and a sex of Female and then click ‘apply filter’ only female Herefords will be displayed.
To remove a single filter change the drop down box on the filtered column to display ‘ANY’ and that filter will be removed, while retaining any other filters. If you wish to remove all filters click ‘Remove Filter’ at the top of the screen.
Once you have filtered your data you can choose a column by which to sort the results.
If you wish to do more complex filtering and to select the columns which you want to display please use the ‘Custom View’ option on the left hand menu.
If you wish to download the data you see on the screen click ‘Produce Download’ at any time. This will create a file in ‘CSV’ (comma separated values) format which you will then have the option to save on your computer. This file can then be used in other applications, such as excel, if you wish.
The data which is downloaded will be the animals and fields currently displayed on the web page when you click ‘Produce Download’ including any filters or sorts which have been applied.
If you wish to print the data you see on the screen click the ‘Print’ button on the web page. (You can use the ‘Print’ button in the toolbar of your web browser but using the button on the web page will produce a page which is better formatted for printing, especially if you have selected extra fields which do not all fit on one page).
When you click print, a document will be produced which includes all of the animals and fields currently displayed on the web page at that time, including any filters or sorts which have been applied.
You will then have the option to save the print file on your computer or to print it out immediately. (Or to do both).

When viewing the Holding List you can view further information on the animal by hovering over the UBAN for the Animal and clicking the left mouse button. This gives further information on the selected animal including Older Animal Indicator & Sire.
Use this screen to select the animals which you wish to view and the fields you would like to be displayed on the screen.
Use the drop down lists at the top of the screen to select the animals you want to see. All of the chosen drop downs will be combined and any drop downs which state ‘ANY’ will be ignored.
So, for example, you could select breed – Hereford and Sex = Female and Date of Birth before 01/01/2005 and the animals displayed would be only female Herefords born before 01/01/2005.
Use the check boxes at the bottom of the screen to show which fields should be displayed. So, in the above example, if you select Dam and Previous holding you will see only the UBAN (which is displayed in all cases) Dam UBAN and the holding from which the animal arrived on your holding on the results screen.
Note that if you select all fields the display not all fit on your computer screen and you may need to scroll right and left to view all of the information.
If you select ‘Current animals’ then the selection criteria which you have chosen will be used only to select from the animals which are currently on your holding.
If you select ‘Current and Previous animals’ then the selection criteria will be used to select from all animals which have been on your holding in either:
The time since you became the holder of this holding OR the time since the current cattle passport and movement tracking system was implemented OR the last 10 years - whichever is the shorter.
Note: if you select from ‘Current and Previous animals’ the response may be slow as there may be a large number of animals to return.
